Flail Mower - Y Blades vs. Hammer Blades?

I'm thinking about changing the cutting blades on my PTO flail mower from the Y blades to the hammer blades. My hope is that they'll be better for woodier brush along field edges / forest edges.

Has anyone used hammer blades on a flail mower? Do they work?
