With planting nearing completion, farmers’ focus now turns to proactively identifying and addressing potential threats to the successful development of emerging crops. Understanding the location and prevalence of these weeds, insects, and plant diseases — and where they may be headed next — is essential to protecting your fields.
This pest update, which utilizes FBN® member-contributed data, is the first in a new FBN series intended to help farmers make informed decisions about how best to protect their fields from such pressures. The report is based on survey responses collected from FBN members between June 6-10, 2024, which were then anonymized and analyzed to assess which pests farmers are most concerned about for the 2024 season.
FBN will continue to collect data on the presence and severity of different pest pressures across the U.S and share those insights throughout the summer.
